Final-Fantasy dinosaur

Final assignment~~~
this big mouth dinosaur I was influenced by one of Godzilla's movie "Godzilla v.s Biollante", and the body shape is pretty much like spinosaurus. I was enjoy working one this one, it takes me about 7 hrs. to get this final done. color by marker & photoshop fixed

Dinosaur!

Finally, time to draw dinosaur! I love dinosaurs so much since I was little, I only knew how to draw dino before. The one I draw call "Dilong", it's mean 'kingdom dragon" in Chinese. the cool
thing is those feathers on it!

Fantasy bird

bird and dinosaur are pretty similar once I study more about their anatomy and structure. like this fantasy bird over here, somehow it looks like a dinosaur too! isn't it interesting?

Bird- Grey parrot

I was having fun to draw this parrot, which I've back in Taiwan. I think that effects a lot when you draw your own pet, I felt more relax to draw and really enjoy! I used marker to color those feather, it's quite challenge too.

Fantasy bovine

Although I only spend one day to finished this piece, but I was really having fun to design it.
Somehow I just had an idea that adding the "predator mouse" to my fatasy bovine, and it looks cool XD!

Bovine

Since I did dog, horse, cat breeds...etc, they all got pretty similar anatomy and structure.
even the bovine breed, I could get the correct poses more faster.
this one I done it in kind of hurry though...

not much to said about this fantasy cat...didn't have enough time to design more, just too busy recently T_T

Had hard time to decide the color for this cat, after color it the head seems a bit weird( can't read the action well too), so I put the pencil work on the side.

I did several sketches before started my cat assignment, and I found out drawing cat is kind of challenge for me. the first sketch I had is draw from my friend's cat-Mini, I tried hard to catch what his facial expression is.

Fantasy horse~

I probably spend the longest time to design this creature. sometimes even u did hundreds of sketches or idea, but u still can't get it right, but I did it finally~
First at all I tried to make the silhouette looks aggressive and wild, then started adding more detail later on.I like how I add velociraptor's big claw on it, it looks cool~

Zorse

Zorse is zebra and horse's mix. (I didn't make it up, it's a actual horse!) I did sevral sketches to get horse's proportion right. For me, it is not easy to draw a beautiful pose though...

Fantasy fish

second week assignment: fantasy fish
Usually it takes a while to think and design fantasy creature (even takes longer time than drawing).here's some sketches:








Basically I checked some artworks from one of my favorite game: "Panzer dragon". I always love those "bony" look design. Not only Panzer dragon, but japanese comic-Guyver, Evangelion...etc. so I sort of combine their designs into my fantasy fish.

Deep sea fish

New semester just started! my very first assignment is for creature design~ I took this class again with instructor Terryl. We'll have more practice on different animals and do our own creature design. isn't it sounds great?

ofcuz I did some research about Viperfish, but is kinda hard to find photos about deep fishes' info, so some of parts I almost made it out by myself. Deep sea fishes are cool!!

about Terryl Whitlatch: she's the creature designer for Star Wars Episode I. character "Jar Jar Binks" is also done by her work. she worked on "Jumanji", "Dragonheart", "Men in Black", she did bunch works for recent film "Beowulf"'s dragon.
since I took her class, she became one of my favorite teacher now ^^
